SMOKE EMISSION TESTING GOING ON IN IMPHAL CITY

Imphal, the January 20th, 2018 (DIPR):  With an idea to curb the menace of exceeding smoke emission level emitted from different vehicles, Manipur Pollution Control Board is testing vehicles plying on road in Imphal city.

While on checking by the officials on 19th January 2018, 44 numbers of Permissible 3 & 4 wheelers and 26 numbers of Non-Permissible 3 & 4 wheelers were found plying on road particularly at Kwakeithel. 75 numbers of Permissible 3 & 4 wheelers and 25 numbers of Non-Permissible 3 & 4 wheelers at Singjamei Kakwa on 18th January 2018; 24 Permissible 3 & 4 wheelers and 09 Non-Permissible 3 & 4 wheelers at Khurai Lamlong on 17th January 2018; 42 Permissible 3 & 4 wheelers and 20 Non-Permissible 3 & 4 wheelers at Kongba Bazar on 16th January, 2018 and 27 numbers of Permissible 3 & 4 wheelers and 04 numbers of Non-Permissible 3 & 4 wheelers at B.T. Road on 15th January 2018 were found plying.

It is also further informed that Manipur Pollution Control Board will take up stringent legal action against the exceeding smoke emission vehicles found plying on road which create health hazards and environment.
