Imphal, January 29, 2018: Socialist Students’ Union of Manipur (SSUM) has pointed out Anganwadi workers for manipulating the children data for their own benefits.
Convener of the student body Naorem Tanoranjan has urged the state to look over the Anganwadi centers as the figures of children are manipulated by increasing its number to earn opportunities for their own.
Tanoranjan was adressing a press meet held yesterday at its head office, Keishampat Leimajam Leikai, Imphal West. He said some of them use the center for their own purpose other than running Anganwadi center.
SSUM will continue drive on schools if the schools are running for profit without giving quality education. Some of the schools have corrected themselves and have started to run school to bring out quality education for the welfare of the students. Some schools still remain unchanged, said the student leader.
He appealed the state and concerned department to take necessary action immediately for the welfare of students. He further said some junior high schools enrolled themselves to other government high schools for appearing Board of Secondary Education examination in an unauthorised manner and the same is followed for higher secondary examination.
“The concerned authority must look into this matter too”, Tanoranjan urged.
