Lady drug dealer arrested with drug and money; 1 NAB and 1 police personnel involve in another drug case

Imphal, January 29, 2018: Drugs with a sum of Rs, 1, 07, 830 were seized by a combined team of Thoubal   police and Narcotics and Affairs of Border (NAB) from a lady, resident of Lilong, with the support of All Lilong Anti Durg Association (ALADA) and Anti Social Prevention Organization (ASPO).

The drugs were seized from Serabanu @ Ibem, 30, wife of Minhadur Rahman of Lilong Haoreibi Chandrakhong yesterday.

The joint state team along with the volunteers of ALADA and ASPO conducted a house search operation at the resident of Serabanu at around 3:30 pm. In the search operation 88.3 gm of white Heroine no.4 powder, 13.3 gm of brown Heroine no. 4 powder, 1,275 numbers of ‘World is Yours’ tablets and 289 numbers of N-10 tablets along with Rs. 1,07,830 in cash were found in her residence.

A case has been registered at Lilong police station and investigation is going on, said W. Basu Singh, superintendent of police/NAB in a press conference held at NAB office, Imphal.

The police and NAB are also dealing with another drug trafficking case in which a NAB personal and a junior police officer were involved.

Meghachandra, SP, Thoubal Police who was also at the conference, said on January 4, M.Kishorekumar, a personal of NAB was arrested as he concealed with him 1.7 kg of brown sugar which he seized from one peddler. He was suspended and he is now in judicial custody.
During interrogation he revealed that 1.5 kg of the brown sugar was already handed to one assistant sub inspector of police Basiruddin a resident of Lilong Haoreibi Lou Manga who was posted at Noney police station. Basiruddin has been absconding and the police are trying to nab him. He has been suspended, said Meghachandra.

Kishorekumar also revealed that one Md Amiduddin of Lilong Haoreibi Lou Manga was connected in the drug trade. Amiduddin’s residence was also raided for three times but he has been absconding.  We are taking up actions to nab them, said Meghachandra.
