36 acres poppy farm destroyed

Imphal, January 31, 2018: A combined team consisting of Tengnoupal deputy commissioner, Tengnoupal police and E-Coy, 18 Assam Rifles, 8 Manipur Rifles and Narcotics and Borders Affairs has destroyed 36 acres of Poppy plantations at Machi Hills and Simang village that would value around 2 crore and  16 lakh.

Tengnoupal DC Kh. Raghumani Singh, SP Tengnoupal S.Ibomcha Singh, AC Th. Krishnatombi Singh of CDO Moreh, SDPO Moreh Lawrence K. Munluo, SDCs Tengnoupal A. Charankumar, N. Kamei, E-Coy, 18 AR led by Major Sekhar, OC Tengnoupal Inspector John Lamkang, OC Machi Inspector Dominique, in-charge CDO Moreh P.Tarunkumar Singh, NAB led by SI Lamsanglien Thangzom, 8 MR led by Jem Binoy conducted the destruction of Poppy plantations at the villages.

The destruction started at 9.30 am ended at 3 pm today.
