Imphal, February 3, 2018: A team of police, NAB, NCB and Assam Rifles accompanied by two executive magistrates destroyed 130 acres of poppy plant farms in three regions of Churchandpur.
Poppy plants at Monglian 62 acres at 3 locations; at Salvaphai 60 acres; and at B. khomunnuam 8 acres at 2 locations were destroyed.
Approximate worth of opium plantation destroyed today as estimated by NCB team is Rs. 5 crore 32 lakh. The drive will continue for next few days as well said the source.
