Home department appeals not to support KCP bandh

State directs to attend their institutions

Pothashang News Service, Imphal, February 11, 2018: The state home department has appealed not to support the 42 hours bandh imposed by KCP (MC) Nongdrenkhomba group that begins at 6 am tomorrow saying that the state government has taken precautionary measures to prevent any untoward incident.

The home department also warned that actions will be taken on any employee who fails to attend duty without a valid reason.

A press statement released by Rehanuddin Choudhury, home secretary stated that the government appeals to general public not to support such illegal bandh and to attend to their normal works as usual.

The state government directs to all its employees to attend offices as usual. “Action will be taken on any employee who fails to attend duty without a valid reason”, said the statement. The state government also appeals to all the students and teachers to attend their schools normally.

The KCP (MC) Nongrenkomba group is one of the groups who surrendered four years ago and signed MOU with the state and the central government. This group has been paid stipend for four years and also onetime payment of Rs. 2.50 lakhs to each of the cadres. This group has been dissolved by the group leaders on completion of 4 years of stay in designated camp. As per the undertaking given by this group, they should not use any such letter head and such group does not exist as per the undertaking. Using of the erstwhile letter head of the group is illegal, said the statement.

The state government has taken serious note of the 42 hours Bandh call given in the name of KCP (MC) as illegal, added the statement.
