Differently abled cricketers left for Nagpur

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, February 13, 2018: Manipur cricket team of differently abled persons left for Nagpur, Maharastra today to take part in the 11th National Para Cricket Championshi-2018.

The tournament will be held during February 17 to 19.

Vice-president of IPSA Joychandra Konthoujam flagged of the Manipur team at North AOC wishing them for success.

Every year the Disabled Development Association Manipur organises residential coaching camp so that the state be upheld. So far there has been no support from the state government. It has been more than seven years that the Manipur team has been participating in such tournaments without the support of the state. If the government supports us with interest the team will triumph in the championship, said Joychandra.

Altogether 13 players and four officials left for the tournament.

Manipur is the only state qualified for the national championship which is organised by Maharashtra Cricket Association for Disabled under the aegis of Federation for Disabled Indian Cricket.

Sixteen teams are participating in the tournament.
