Minister Biswajit seeks public support for development

UKHRUL, February 18, 2018 (DIPR): The 3 day Hunphun Luira Phanit (seed sowing festival) concluded today in a ceremony which was attended by Minister for Works/ PR& RD Shri. Th. Biswajit Singh as the Chief Guest at the Mission Ground, Ukhrul District today.

Speaking during the function, the Minister reminded the importance of the festival and expressed hope that there will be a good harvest in the State. He also reassured the people that the Govt under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri N. Biren Singh is committed to bring equal development in hills and the valley.

He stated that one of the most important factors in development communication. Highlighting that connectivity is an important constituent to achieve progress, Minister Th. Biswajit Singh said connectivity not only bring commercial prosperity but also strengthens inter personal relationships which helps in bringing peace and harmony among the people.

Stating that various programmes and project are being taking up in the District, the Minister said the National Highway connecting the district headquarter which is a life line will be quality checked and the Eastern and Western circular roads will be implemented in the town. The Minister further said growth and progress can be achieved only when the people and the government work as a unit to bring prosperity in the region. Seeking support from the people the Minister wished the people of Ukhrul best of harvest in the year.

Also attending the festival were Commissioner, Works, Shri K. Radhakumar Singh, IAS, Chairman, ADC Ukhrul, Shri. K Dickson among other dignitaries.
