Pothashang News Service : Imphal, February 24, 2018: Chief minister Nongthombam Biren Singh today said he feels good to hear that around 36 clubs from Kongba area have decided to reduce the number of days of Yaoshang celebration to 3 days.
Biren was stresing over the negative effects of prolonged celebration of Yaoshang and Lai Haraoba in the state while addressing the gathering at DM College of Science on the first day of the collge’s week.
He said various civil societies have appealed the people of the state to lessen the number of days of Yaoshang celebration.
Umanglai Kanba Lup(UKAL) has also appealed the public to refrain from using loud speakers during the Lai Haraoba celebration in the state, added the chief minister.
