Employees indefinite cease work strike ‘begins’ tomorrow

Pothashang News Service : Imphal, February 26, 2018:  Manipur Government Services’ Federation (MGSF) has announced to launch indefinite cease work strike tomorrow demanding to implement the 7th Pay Commission recommendations.

The employees’ federation decided to launch the strike until the central pay is implemented. The meeting strongly condemned the delay in execution of the pay commission recommendations.

The cease work strike will be exempt the education department in view of the ongoing examinations, said a press statement released by the general secretary, MGSF Purujit Lairikyengbam.

On February 6 during the 4th session of the 11th Manipur Legislative Assembly the finance minister Y. Joykumar who is also the deputy chief minister stated in the house that the government is in the process of working out the feasibility and financial implication for the execution of the central pay. The time cannot be ascertained to when the 7th central pay be implemented as it depends on the findings of the Fitment Committee, said the minister.

This has aroused the employees to opt for cease work strike with the delay in the implementation of the pay structure depending of the findings of the fitment committee which is taking time.
