State Agriculture Fair, 2018 launched

Pothashang News Service : Imphal, February 26: State Agriculture Fair, 2018 for the farmers was launched today at Iboyaima Shumang Leela Shanglen, Palace compound, Imphal East.

The function was organised by Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute, department of agriculture, sponsored by the ministry of agriculture and farmers’ welfare.

A total number of 42 stalls of various departments and self help groups are opened where agricultural products and agricultural implements are displayed.

Chief secretary R.R. Rashmi, said the opening of  agri-fair would boost up and strengthen  the agricultural products , use of technology know- how and skill development like soil health test for the farmers to ask the department to know how to use fertilizers to raise production now and in the near future in the agricultural sector.

He said that all departments has been trying so many years to make increase agriculture products and the department became largest provider of employment. It also available now soil testing laboratory for the farmers in the state.

The fair will be continued till the March first day.
