Family denied Suicide claims of Naik Muyo
Pothashang News Service: Imphal, March 10, 2018: Family of Yangmi Muyo, Lance Naik of Laimakhong Territorial Army has denied Yanmi died of suicide, and alleged that Yangmi was murdered on January 18 by inmates.
Lance Naik Yangmi Muyo, 34, was found dead in the store room with his throat slice three times. Yangmi joined service in 2006. He was serving at 165 Battalion in Laimakhong in wireless department and sharing the posted camp with three other colleagues.
Yangmi Muyo, son of Diamond Muyo of Halang village, Ukhrul district was survived by his wife and a son who is just 3 yrs and 10 months.
Wife of Yangmi, Timrawon Muiwo said her husband was killed by his inmates on the morning. She said he was with a Kuki guy, a Pangal and another Tangkhul guy.
Timrawon said while his friends were relaxing after lunch, Yangmi went out for his duty ahead. She was told that her husband was found dead with three cuts on his neck breaking his breathing line. But she was told that her husband committed suicide.
An FIR case was lodged in Sapormeina Police station and a report of post mortem from JNIMS revealed that it was murder and not suicide. The CO had however denied it and said it was a suicide case. He consoled the family members that investigation has been set up and promised due justice.
Ibeyaima, sister of Yangmi said her family has consulted the police for actions to be taken but the police denied saying it is not their jurisdiction to take up a case for murder.
The helpless family members of the deceased army personnel appealed to cooperate in getting justice to the armed personnel.
