Acid attack victim decry over the state negligence

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, March 13, 2018: Acid attack victim Mangshatabam Menaka, 32 has decried over the negligence of the state government besides free medical treatment at Regional Institute of Medical Sciences.

“I have not received any compensation even if the chief minister has announced in February Assembly session”, said Menaka while addressing the reporters at Manipur Press Club today.

Menaka was attacked while returning home on her scooter at Khurai Soibam Leikai Wangkhei Khunou at 8.30pm on November 29 by Md Shahdad, alias Tomba, 22, who was searching for a girl at Menaka’s tea kiosk that day.

Manipur social welfare minister Nemcha Kipgen had condemned the acid attack on Menaka, when she visited her at the hospital on December 5 last year. She assured that the culprit would be punished.

Joint Action Committee against the acid attack today demanded to put the culprit behind bars for life time.
