Training on garment making commenced

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, March 13, 2018: Manipur Creations, garment manufacturer has launched a 35-day training programme on garment making at its branch office 3C Takyel Industrial Estate, Imphal West.

The training programme was inaugurated by principal secretary of labour and employment, P.K. Singh.

Proprietor of Manipur Creations, Koijam Vasunraz said 50 women selected from Tamenglong district is taking part in this garment making training. The trainees will undergo 35 days training and on completion will be certified as Manipur Creations job workers. They will be provided with a motorised sewing machine along with a solar power set.

Manipur Creations will set up an outlet in Tamenglong district headquarter soon and post training, workers can collect and submit materials and finished products on weekly basis from the outlet, he added.

The training programme is funded by CML Tata Trust and in association with Tamenglong district administration. It aims solely to improve the uplift socio economic conditions of the people of Tamenglong.
