Awareness programme on MR held at Bishnupur

BISHNUPUR, February 22, 2018: One day awareness programme on Measles and Rubella (MR) vaccination was held today for the leaders of different Madrasas, Lions Club of Moirang and teachers of the surrounding schools at Primary Health Centre (PHC), Kwakta. The campaign was organized by District Health Society, Bishnupur.

Deputy Commissioner of Bishnupur Shri Pawan Yadav, IAS stressed on the importance of religious leaders, philanthropic organizations and school teachers in combating the disease at the earliest. He also said that providing vaccination to all the targeted population and achieving 100% target will be possible only through the participation of the people.

The campaign was graced by Dr. Puspen, District Coordinator, WHO, Riyadin, District Consultant, UNICEF, Dr. H. Babychand Devi, CMO apart from some district level officers and staffs of the PHC.

It may be mentioned that the District Health Society had formed a task force to carry out MR vaccination for children between 9 months and 15 years of age starting from the 26th of this month.
