Chief minister Biren clarifies his Madhavpur statement
Pothashang News Service: Imphal, March 30, 2018: Chief minister Biren Singh as assured to the Maniur Students’ Federation has clarified on his speech delivered at the of Madhavpur mela, a religio-cultural fair going in Porbandar district of Gujarat.
The clarification statement released by media advisor to the chief minister Irengbam Arun stated that “During the time of Gods, i.e., during Bhagwan Krishna’s period Krishna married to a girl named Rukamani and had good relationship with the people of the North East region (Assam,Manipur, Nagaland, etc) which borders China. However, there was no prospect to live together as it was divided politically or socially. But, after Godly man Narendra Modi was born in Gujarat and became the prime minister, he brought integration in the nation and he has proved that the North East as an inseparable part of Bharat, and trying to develop the region” as these are the meaning of the lines spoken by chief minister Biren Singh at Porbandar.
Biren Singh in the afternoon assured the Manipur Students’ Federation (MSF) that he will give clarification over his speech. Representatives of MSF met the chief minister at its office for more than an hour over the speech which has been termed as controversial by some sections of the society.
