Cooperative seminar launched

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, March 31, 2018: Minister of cooperation and social welfare, Nemcha Kipgen today inaugurated a one-day state level seminar on ‘Cooperative for Social and Economic Changes in Manipur’ held at Iboyaima Sumang Lila Shanglen, Imphal.

Nemcha stated that cooperative plays a significant role in boosting the socio-economic condition of Manipur. It is a known fact that cooperative organization brings economic development and also social changes through self-responsibility, democracy, equality, equity, solidarity and belief in ethical values of honesty and social responsibilities. She stated that the social and economic benefits of co-operatives have far reaching impact and as such, need support from the development community to reach all the stake holders.

She said the standard of living of BPL families can be improved by imparting cooperative knowledge and through effective implementation of various cooperative techniques and skills from seminars, workshops and training programs held in different parts of the state.

The seminar is sponsored by National Cooperative Union of India, New Delhi and organised by Manipur State Cooperative Union.
