NPP president Conrad Sangma visits state
Pothashang News Service: Imphal, April 7, 2018: National president of National People’s Party (NPP) and chief minister of Meghalaya, Conrad K. Sangma today said the party believes in bringing together all NE states together and urged the state to give support for the party to bring overall development to the region.
He said northeast India has not got the development it deserves till date with so much to be done and achieved. “NPP knows our own differences, our own priorities but we can be together and believes in bringing NE people together” he stated at the gathering of hundreds of people.
NPP with its slogan, NPP for united North East, NPP for new age politics, NPP the game changer and NPP the alternative today, he preached how the party is trying to transform the overall development of the region step by step.
Conrad stated that NE is second to none and congratulated Manipur talents both Saikhom Mirabai Chanu and Khumukcham Sanjita for clenching gold in the ongoing Commonwealth Game 2018 at Australia. He said that both of them has done Manipur proud and also the region that it has richness of talent among youths.
He assured that NPP believes in the power of youth and will do whatever it can to create and to promote youths of NE.
He at the same time paid tributes to the founder of NPP, Nongthombam Ibomcha Singh in the year 1989 and P.A. Sangma for revival of the party.
This is the first visit of Conrad in the state. He was given a grand felicitation with NPP ministers and MLAs welcoming him at Lamboikhongnangkong Football Ground. Health minister L. Jayantakumar, sports minister Letpao Haokip and N. Kayisii. Conrad was accompanied by his several council of ministers PWD minister, Prestone Tynsong, home minister James Sangma and commerce and industries minister Sniawbhalang Dhar along with advisors.
Nagaland state unit president Ato Yepthomi and his team of around 20 members also came for the national party president’s visit in the state.
