Surrendered militant charged of raping a widow
Pothashang News Service: Imphal, April 11, 2018: A surrendered militant has been alleged, for molestation and attempting to rape a 40 years old widow, by a women organisation on Imphal.
The women organisation demands harsh punishment for the molester and rapist.
Speaking to media persons, the victim said the incident took place on March 17when she went to deliver some household items at the resident of the 30 years old culprit of Imphal.
The victim called for the family members of the alleged rapist but found out that no was at home except for he, who responded her call from inside the house, she added.
“He was watching a movie and offered her to join him but the movie which he was watching was and adult movie and she tried to leave him when started touching her body and force her on his bed”, said the victim.
She begged him to let her go.
Seeing no means to escape, she began to shout for help, at that moment she was let free with a threat not to tell anyone about the incident or she and her family will face various life threats consciences, she added.
The victim further said a complaint was filed to the Lamsang Police Station on April 9 after informing to the local meira paibi as she could not wait for the apology from the culprits though the whole story of the incident have been told to the culprits family, even his family began to neglect her and of the incident which is very unfortunate, she added.
President of women organisation said the culprit is now in police custody.
The women organisation demanded the concern authority to take legal actions and give befitting punishment as per the law of the land so that no one can think of doing such evil things in the future.
