Health minister urges for proper documentary evidences over IE district hospital land

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, May 3, 2018: Health Minister L. Jayantakumar Singh has urged for proper documentary evidences and not just mere words regarding the land acquisition for the construction of Imphal East District Hospital.

The people of Khundarkapam and Saikul has been agitating against the shifting of the hospital site at Kyamgei in Keirao Assembly constituency while they were demanding to begin construction of the hospital at Sagolmang district hospital site.

Speaking to media today at his office at the old secretariat, the minister said it is unfortunate that some people are inflicting baseless information to the common people of Khundrakpam regarding the site for the construction of the hospital at Sagolmang creating an atmosphere for agitation.

Stating that some portion of land for the construction at Sagolmang is still under dispute, the minister maintained that there have been irregularities found while checking the records of land patta at the settlement department.

The land registered in the name of health department in the year 2011 was found reregistered in the name of some private individuals, which was again recently re-reregistered in the name of health department. This creates a sense of misuse of power and law by the previous government. He also stated that the matter will be investigated through proper channel.

He also assured that he will help if the public of Khundrakpam wish to go to the concerned department to verify the fact of the land papers. He also asserted that the government is always ready to take up necessary action for the upliftment of health sector in the state.
