Drug top dogs arrested

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, May 5, 2018: A family of three, who runs cross-border drug trade, were arrested from the Indo-Myanmar border town Moreh, yesterday morning by a team of Narcotic and Affairs of Border (NAB) and Tengnoupal Police.

Talking to reporters at her office in Imphal, deputy superintendant, NAB police, Th. Brinda, said the trio were arrested from two different locations in Moreh following disclosure of several arrested accused drug traffickers.

The arrest was a follow up of a drug haul case involving retired senior cop Md. Abdul Latif who was arrested on April 13. The disclosure of one of the accused of the case, Abdul Wahab, 27, has led to the arrest of the trio, added Brinda.

The family, mother-daughter and son in law, is one of the biggest drug suppliers spanning cross-border from Myanmar to India, said the lady officer. They were identified as Chalmawii Mizo Duhlian, 53, wife of Hashim of Dalpati road, resident of Moreh ward no. 2 near Madras Mandir, Lalrozami Mizo Duhlian, 27 and Sougaijam Robindro Singh, 28, (Lalrozami’s husband) resident of Kakching Wairi at present staying at Moreh.

Police also recovered 5,200 World is Yours tablets, 1 kilo of heroine no.4,  currency notes of 28,801 Kyat (Burmese currency), Rs. 1,13,150, Hyundai car, 10 mobile sets, three bank pass books, two cheque books, two ATM and several incriminating documents from the trio.
