771 packets of Alprawin seized

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, June 4, 2018:  Moreh Battalion of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) and Moreh Police commandos recovered 771 packets of Alprawin-0.5 (Alprazolam) from two Maruti Vansin Ward No 7, Moreh, Tengnoupal district, Manipur at the Indo-Myanmar border on Sunday.

Each packet contained 400 tablets and the approximate cost of the seizure is Rs 1,05,00,000/- (Rupees one core five lakh only). On June 3 a team of Moreh Batallion of Assam Rifles and a team of Moreh Police commandos rushed to the spot. The team searched the area and recovered the contraband items hidden at different places in the vehicles. The apprehended along with the recovered items were handed over to Moreh Police station for further action, said a press statement by AR.
