WY worth Rs 49 lakh seized

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, June 22, 2018: One day after the recovery of contraband drugs worth Rs 7 Crores, Tengnoupal Battalion of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) recovered 9800 numbers of WY tablets from a jungle track near Khudengthabi, Tengnoupal district, Manipur.

The ambush party spotted an individual Ngamjatong Mate, age 52 years, son of Ngulkho Mate, resident of village Tuipi Lokchao, Tengnoupal moving suspiciously with a bag. On checking the individual, 9800 WY tablets were recovered. Approximate cost of the contraband drug is Rs 49 lakhs. The apprehended person along with recovered drugs was handed over to Moreh Police station, it added.
