Drug worth Rs 20 cr drug seized

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, July 10, 2018:  A team of Narcotics and Affairs of Border (NAB) arrested two persons long with one kilogram of heroin powder from Nagaram area near Punya Hyundai Car showroom yeasterday.

The two drug traffickers were identified as  Hidangmayum Inao Sharma, 43, son of late H. Nilamani Sharma and Hijam Tondum Singh, 37, son of late H. Ihohal Singh, both resident of Yairipok Yambem Makha Leikai, PS-Andro, Imphal East.

A case has been registered at NAB police station and investigation is going on.

W Basu Singh, superintendent of police/NAB andPRO, police department Manipur said the heroine powder would cost around Rs. 20 crore. In the local market the value of 1 kg heroine powder is Rs 20 lakh. In the international market the value is 10 times that of in local market, he added.

He was talking to the reporters at his office today.

NAB has a pre trial disposal committee. Letters were written to CCF (controller company factories) for permission to dispose the seized drugs within fifteen days. Disposal will begin by 15/16 of this months and it will be carried out next by next, he added.
