Veterinary employees move for central pay

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, July 11, 2018: Employees of state veterinary department today staged sit-in as a part of the cease work strike launched by the Joint Administrative Council (JAC) of All Manipur Trade Unions’ Council and All Manipur Government Employees Organisation.

Jamaluddin Khan, an employee of the department said, “The demand put by JAC is pressed as they are necessary to be fulfilled.”

A section of people who are bureaucrats are enjoying the7th Central Pay structure. The government fails to realise to serve for the people’s welfare. They rule like monarchs and dictators, he added.

“A lesson should be taught to them by the people of the state. Any government in Manipur fails to keep promises. We will continue to support the strike until the employees demands are fulfilled,” said the employee.

We are demanding for our rights, the pay is not to be paid from their pockets. “They fail to furnish the 7th pay scale to the employees as they are week in policy making,” he added.

The employees cease work strike was launched on March 22.
