Man found ‘killed’ near Manipur Assembly; People demand to book murderer
Pothashang News Service: Imphal, August 11, 2018: Demanding to book the miscreants involved in murdering a 37 years old man at a location opposite to Manipur State Assembly, people today staged a sit-in rally in front of Tangkhul Baptist Church, Chingmeirong, Imphal.
The man was found dead within the hyper sensitive zone yesterday evening.
He was identified as Keishing Y Shimray, son of Y.S. Mashangyei of Teinem Village, Ukhrul district. It is said that he is presently staying at a rented house of one Munindro of Thangmeiband Sinam Leikai.
According to the locals staying near Keishing, he went out to buy curry at around 7.30 pm .He was found dead with bloodshed on the footpath of southern side of Lilashing Khongnangkhong High School.
According to police report there was a brick stained with blood near the body also a mark of hand with blood on the wall of the school campus.
Under the jurisdiction of Lamphel Police post mortem has conducted at RIMS morgue this afternoon.
A case has been registered at Lamphel police for further investigation.
Speaking to media, president of Tangkhul Sinao Long, Grace Satchang ask the government to book the culprit and give justice to the family immediately. The incident took place in a hyper sensitive zone and there is a CCTV camera fitted at the gate number one of Manipur State Assembly gate.
She said when they ask about the CCTV camera footage it was answered that the camera is not working. It shows that there are security lapses of the state even in the hyper sensitive zone. Similar incidents had occurred near North A.O.C. that time also government replied the same as due to failure of CCTV camera, she added.
Spokesperson of Tangkhul Katamnao Long Imphal, H.C. Raishing said the body will not be accepted until the culprits are booked.
He if the government fails to book the culprits within 48 hours hills organisation jointly with the valley organisations will initiate intense agitations.
