JCILPS students’ wing demand NIT faculty recruitment interview in Imphal
Pothashang News Service: Imphal, August 17, 2018: Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS) Students’ wing has today demanded the National Institute of Technology, Manipur authority to conduct interview for recruitment of 22 faculties in Manipur instead of conducting in Kolkata.
We oppose this, because it is not reasonable, said convenor of the youth wing, Manjit Sarangthem. The recruitment is meant for the NIT, Manipur, as such the recruitment process including the interview should be conducted in Imphal itself where the permanent Centre is located, he added.
A memorandum was submitted on yesterday to the director, NIT, Manipur pressing to immediately postpone the schedule of interview and conduct in Imphal.
The local candidates are facing problems in the course of attending the interview outside the Manipur. Moreover all the intending candidates must have to know the atmosphere of the NIT, Manipur especially as well as the state of Manipur in general, he added.
In no case the interview should be arranged outside Manipur. The very act of conducting interview at the places, outside of Manipur is the violation of Rules and Conduct of NIT itself. As the campus of NIT, Manipur is the permanent one. So all related administrative works should be done in its permanent campus. There are lots of apprehensions in the mindset of the people of Manipur that there must be some irregularities and misdeeds which may leads to a wrong direction by conducting such interview at the outside of Manipur.
Hence, the scheduled interview should be postponed and reschedule it in the state of Manipur
at the earliest in the public interest, demanded the students wing.
