Spaniard coach sees NE Boys in future Indian team

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, Sep 14, 2018: Neroca FC new coach Manuel Retamero Fraile had remarked that it is big time for the local players to show and prove their talent that they are the future of the Indian football.

The Spainiard coach said, ‘I want the team to improve properly and any mistake have to be corrected’.He was addressing the media on the eve of friendly match against North East United FC tomorrow at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium as preparation for the forthcoming Hero I-League and ISL 2018-19.

He added we have welcomed such friendly match as part of the pre season training which can throw light on the weakness and where to focus for the needed refinement.

Retamero said,’I am very happy with my teams and I want to see the best in them. I will try my best for the Hero I-League and be a good friend of the team. My advice to the boys is to enjoy the game try their best shot. The best way one can move forward that theirs aptitude should be good’.

North East United FC head coach Eelco Schattorie said I am looking forward for a good game tomorrow. The players particularly from the North East region have lots of energy and potential to shines in the future. Most of the players are youngsters and they need to adapt to higher level and above all stick as a team.

He added that, ‘It will be a challenging game tomorrow. We have hold out friendly matches earlier and we will be playing two more games at Kolkata in the next few days to sharpen the skills of the players’.

Neroca FC finished their debut season last year fetching the runner up title after Minerva FC, Punjab in the Hero I-League. As for NEUFC, they finished on the bottom of the table in the Indian Super League 2017-18.

For the current season, the Hero I-League will start on September 29 while Indian Super League will begin on October 15.
