Drug trafficker arrested with “881” tablets

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, September 19, 2018: Officers of the Customs Preventive Force, Moreh, led by the Superintendent CPF detected a huge quantity of amphetamine tablets 30,000 (thirty thousand) having trade mark “881” total weighing 3 kgs.
According to a statement released by assistant commissioner R.K. Darendrajit Singh one person, David Doungel aged about 32 years, son of Shigil Doungel, residence of N. Chajang of Saikul sub division, Kangpokpi district has been arrested in this connection. The seized contraband drug and the arrested person was intercepted at about 10.30 am, near the Moreh petrol pump, Chikim veng, along the Imphal Moreh National highway 102. The contraband drug was of Myanmar origin.
The said drug was being smuggled from Myanmar and was intercepted while trying to transport to Imphal from Moreh. A case has been taken up under the NDPS Act 1985. The seized drug is valued at Rs 3 crore, Further investigation of the case is going on, said the release.
