First chopper service in Manipur

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, September 19, 2018: Manipur has got a civil helicopter service with its launching flight taking off from Imphal International Airport carrying chief minister N. Biren Singh and his ministers to Jiribam.

The Imphal-Jiribam helicopter service will operate daily except Sundays and holidays. The helicopter service is provided by Pawan Hans. The chopper has 13 passengers seat.

There will be four flights, two each from Imphal and Jiribam. The flight will depart from Imphal at 9 am and 2:30 pm and from Jiribam it will depart at 9:50 am and 3:50 pm. It takes 35 minutes to cover the Imphal-Jiribam distance.

For the opening day there were six services.

The chief minister also inaugurated Harinagar Helipad in Jiribam.
