MSF Celebrates China Jubilee
Pothashang News Service: Imphal, October 13, 2018: Manipuri Students’ Federation (MSF) today celebrated China Jubilee, 20 glorious years of the student body at Kwakeithel Thounaojam Leikai Community Hall, Imphal West.
MSF president Ngariyanbam Milan said for the last 20 years MSF has been fighting for the welfare of the students’ rights, their academic system, education system as well as on various social issues of the state for the welfare of the people of the Manipur.
He said MSF has been able to establish a common syllabus system for students upto X Standard, both hills and valleys of the Manipur territorial boundary.
This is the biggest achievement that MSF has been able to contribute to the students of the state, he added.
Milan elaborated on the federation’s academic campaign called “Leirik Ningthina Tamsi”, “Moral Education Campaign” and “Eikhoi Khunai Khangminnasi” (society based campaign) has been conducted in different school and colleges across the state including various remote areas of the state to improve the moral contents of education impart to students and to understand the culture of our state.
Medical Camp and academic campaign was also conducted at Pherjol in collaboration with Vaiphei Students’ Association, he added.
Milan said, since January 23 MSF has been able to carry out drive against the non-locals storming in the state without proper documents and their intention to claim as locals by changing their surname by deporting them back to their origin place as punishment including approval from DCs of the state.
The federation has also conducted various drives against drugs since most of the school and college going students are becoming victims as drug users. Drive against sales of expired products and goods at higher rates by retailers, wholesalers and dealers in the state were also conducted, Milan added.
MSF will continue to work for the welfare of all the students and peoples of the state and to bring unity among all the indigenous people of the state. MSF plays a big role in the process to bring back normalcy in MU for the welfare of the students of the University, Milan said.
In the morning, MSF flag was hosted and honoured the departed souls of the student federation with two minutes silence.
The sacrifice made by Pebam Chittaranjan in fighting against the draconian AFSPA, 1958 was also remembered.
