Cultural festival of ICM

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, October 27, 2018: Education minister Thokchom Radheshyam said entrepreneurship is the answer to the unemployment problem faced in the state and the country as well. He said entrepreneurial growth will create job opportunities for the educated unemployed youths and bring economic growth.

The minister was speaking at the 10th Annual Cultural Festival of the Institute of Cooperative Management (ICM), Lamphelpat Imphal. Success is achieved by those who pursue their dreams realizing the goal that one wants to accomplish in life. He urged the students to empower themselves, by overcoming the weaknesses and keeping a steady focus towards their goal in life.

Business, he added is all about demand and supply and overcoming the fear to take risks. Th. Radheshyam said that the students who have the dream to become an entrepreneur or a businessman should start their planning and preparation from now, keeping in view the possibilities of the future requirements. He added that any innovation and initiative should be relevant not only in the present but also for the future.

Director, ICM, Dr. N Ranjana Devi said the ICM is becoming one of the key institutes providing training programmes under the Startup Scheme to the youths. She said that “under the planning department ICM in a joint venture with the IIM Calcutta will set up an incubation centre in Manipur”.
