Chakouba organised for differently abled women

Pothashang News Service : Imphal, November 11: International Handicapped Welfare Mission (INHAWEM) today organised 7th Ningol Chakouba for differently abled women at INHAWEM hall Moidangpok with a grand feast gift presentation ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, INHAWEM president, Angom Momo said it have been celebrating the festival since 2011 with the mentally challenged and differently abled women as they are mostly unmarried and lack the understanding of the beautiful festival. He lamented that the government has never extended any assistance in organising the event.

Momo further said we had asked the government for help regarding the welfare of the differently-abled but no welfare programme has been extended so far.

Around 86 women attended the occasion in presence of former Konthoujam MLA K. Sharat.
