Manipur to have huge children park soon

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, November 14, 2018: Manipur chief minister N. Biren Singh on the occasion of Children’s Day announced to construct a huge children park in the state soon.

He also announced that a toy train would be installed at the Takyel Children Park soon.

Biren was adressing at the Children’s Day celebration held at the auditorium of Tribal Research Institute, Imphal, organised by department of social welfare.

Biren said the health and social welfare departments would would work together to implement various children welfare schemes in the state.

He appealed the parents and guardians to provide them free time and space so as to know the environment and society better.

He also appealed the people not to upload any images and videos that would give negative impact on the children’s behaviour.

“We need to nurture our children in a peaceful and clean environment” said the chief minister.

Manipur is flooded with various crimes, problems and issues such as rampant drug abuse and alcoholism, which are the main cause of the untimely death.  This adversely affects the society, he added.

The chief minister presented gifts to various children.

Social welfare minister Nemcha Kipgen said it is our responsibility to provide love, good education and proper care for the children.

We need to protect our children from exploitation, sexual abuse, child labour etc. There is need for people’s support to implement successfully the laws that have been enacted by the government for the protection of children in the country, she added.
