Poppy plants destroyed

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, January 8, 2019: A joint team of Narcotics and Affairs of Border and Manipur police, Narcotics Control Bureau and Kangpokpi DC destroyed around 135 acres of poppy cultivation at Nepali asean village hill ranges and adjoining areas today. The destructed poppy plants would have yielded around 1350 kg of opium, said a source.  A total of 250 officers and personnel participated in the joint operation.
