Attempt to burn Modi’s effigy foiled

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, January 16, 2019: Police foiled attempts to burn the effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi by volunteers of Manipur Muslim Welfare Organisation (MMWO) in Imphal East today. The attempt to burn the effigy was made demanding withdrawal of the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill that was passed in Lok Sabha on January 7. When the MMWO volunteers tried to burn the effigy of the Prime Minister some police personnel in civil dress snatched the effigies and ran away.
