Poppy plantation expected 1680 kg opium destroyed

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, January 17, 2019: In continuation of drive against poppy plantation a joint team of NAB, NCB, Imphal East and Imphal West district police, Kangpokpi district police, 5th IRB, 38 AR and SDO Lhungtin led by SP, NAB and ASP, NAB conducted poppy destruction drive at Waichai village, Hangoipat village, Tengkonphai and Makeng village under Kangpokpi district, Saikul PS in which poppy plantation of about 240 acres were destroyed. The plantation would have yielded 1680 kg of opium.
