Drug worth Rs 5 crores seized

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, January 25, 2019: Officers of anti-smuggling unit, customs division, Imphal effected seizure of 50, 000 amphetamine tablets marked as “WY” from the possession of one person who was apprehended at Chingmeirong near MBC church today.

The person was identified as Lalhming Thanga, 42 years son of late Lalpiangliana, resident of Zoveng, Zenhang Lamka, Churachandpur.

He was apprehended yesterday while trying to deliver the drug to some other person.

Further investigation is on to nab other person (s) involved, said a press statement released by Modoli Daso, assistant commissioner, customs division.
