Toilet tank blast kills 2, injures 1

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, January 28, 2019: Two persons including a boy died while another boy injured in a toilet septic tank blast at Madrasa Mazharul Uloom located at Bengoon, Mayang Imphal in Imphal West today.

The incident was occurred today at about 2.40pm when the pipeline septic tank of the school toilet blasted suddenly while checking it to coming of bad odour.

The deceased have been identified as vice-chairman of the Madrasa Md. Latif, 50, son of late MV. Aoudrana of Bengoon and Md. Huissan, 13, son of Ravizuddin of Keirao.

The injured child has been identified as Md. Mustakin, 15, son of late Tomba of Beengun was injured.

The toilet has been reportedly constructed about 10 years ago. Students of the Madrasa made a complaint to the authority that an unusual false odour is coming from the toilet. To check the problem Latif monitored the pipeline and while he was checking the pipeline the two minor was watching inside the toilet.

Suddenly the pipeline blasted and with its impact walls of the toilet fall down towards the three persons.

There were separate chambers of about 10 in total length of about 60 ft. With the impact of the blast the walls of the toilet falls on top of the three persons.

During the incident Latif and Huissan died on the spot where Mustakin was rushed to Regional Institute of Medical Science.

Speaking to media joint secretary of the Madrasa, Md. Habibulah urged the government to look over the incident and give necessary assistance to the family members of the decease and the injured minor.
