AR seizes narcotics worth over Rs 4 crores
Pothashang News Service: Imphal, February 15, 2019: Tengnoupal Battalion of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) apprehended two narcotics smuggler carrying 1.126 kgs of Heroin worth approximately Rs. 4.504 crores from Khudengthabi Check Post today.
Based on specific input from reliable sources, a team of Tengnoupal stopped a Red Colour Hyundai Eon, bearing registration No WB 06 J 9465 travelling from Moreh to Imphal for checking. On carrying out thorough check of the vehicle the search team recovered two big packets and 33 small packets containing white powder suspected to be Heroin duly concealed inside the chasis fold of the car and inside two packages of bed cover. The approximate weight of the contraband including the packing material is 1.126 kgs and the approximate value of the contraband is Rs 4.504 crores, said a press statement of Assam Rifles.
The two apprehendees, identified themselves as Mr Md Bharul Islam, 22, son of Md Abdul Salam, resident of Lilong and Mr Md Ina age 31 years, son of Mr Md Ayazuddin, residence of Hatta Mana Ingkhol, Prompat Sub Division, Imphal. Apprehendees along with recovered items were handed over to Narcotics Control Bureau, Imphal, the statement added.
