Former chief secretary and Trinamul state leader join Congress

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, February 20, 2019: Former chief secretary O. Nabakishore and president of All India Trinamool Congress Manipur Pradesh Dr. Soraisham Manaoton and 16 others from different walks of life joined Congress.

The 16 others were ex-BJP candidate Sword Vashum of Chingai autonomous council, ex-NEIDP candidate Paukhansuan Khuptong of Churachandpur, ex-ADC members Zino Kamei and Satkhojang Kipgen of Tamenglong, Imphal Municipal Corporation’s corporators Y. Lukamani Devi of Yaiskul, Th. Purnachandra and H. Nutanchandra of Thangmeiband and O. Romeo of Keishamthong retired IRS officer W. Lalkholam Hanshing, retired professor Dr. E. Iboyaima Singh, retired commandant of Manipur Rifles Y. Ashok Kumar, James Kanshung, John Manglianthang Zou, former BJP member Kh. Ratankumar Singh, H. Jiten Singh and former BJP member Oinam Romen Singh.

Manipur PCC leaders appealed the people to work together with Congress to win the two Lok Sabha seats of Manipur in the ensuing Lok Sabha election  to contribute in bringing down the “Narendra Modi government”.
Former chief minister and Congress Legislature Party leader Okram Ibobi Singh welcoming the new comers said,”BJPwill fall after the Lok Sabha election. Let’s work together to strengthen the Congress to defeat communal BJP so that there will be integrity and harmony in the country.”

“BJP is a cheater. We should not stop opposing the citizenship bill. BJP leader Amit Shah said the bill will be passed if BJP continues its governance after the Lok Sabha election. We have to be very careful, ” Manipur PCC president and former deputy chief minister Gaikhangam said.

Manaoton said, “I joined Congress to bring down BJP government.”

MPCC’s Okram Joy said, “The popularity of Narendra Modi government is almost over. Trying to pass the bill is total arrogance. To save Manipur, North East and India, BJP should be rooted out.”
