Six hospitalised of Bee Bite

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, February 23, 2019: At least six men, who were today attacked by a swarm of bees on the road at Yaralpat near Mega Manipur School in Imphal East, were hospitalised.

Six of them were taken to Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) hospital. One of them was taken to Raj Medicity for he faced breathing problem. He was later discharged.

Three of them remained at the JNIMS hospital till the filing of this report.
The six bee-bite victims include an employee of state police department, an employee of Regional Institute of Medical Sciences and four of them were farmers.

One of them said the swarm of bees attacked them on the road while they were heading to their work places.
He said they were driving their bikes when the bees attacked them.
They stopped their bikes and sat for a while thinking that the bees will go away if they don’t move. When it didn’t work they ran to escape for about a kilometer. Later the villagers sent-off the bees by producing smoke at the site.
