23 persons from BJP and one from NPF join Congress

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, March 30, 2019: Twenty-three members of the BJP including former minister K. Vungzalian, who was also former president of BJP Churachandpur district, and former MLA Janghemlung Panmei from Tamenglong, who was former member of the Naga People’s Front joined Congress today.

They were received in a gathering held at Congress Bhawan, Imphal

Vungzalian was not present in the ceremony due health problem.

The remaining BJP members who left the include office bearers of the party at different levels.

N. Kabita Leima former general secretary of BJP Imphal Central District Mahila said, “There has been various unsolved issues in the state. The state needs protection and I realised that Congress is the ideal party to protect Manipur.”

Manipur Congress Legislature Party leader Okram Ibobi Singh said, “I welcome all who believe in the ideology and principal of Congress and join the party. I believe that many will join us soon to save democracy, the constitution and independent agencies.”

He appealed the gathering to work so that both the candidates of Congress win the election.

Five  former MLAs left  Congress and joined North East India Development Party recently.
