Assam Rifles rescues missing child

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, April 1, 2019: Kakching Battalion of 28 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) rescued a missing child of Umathel Mayai Leikai, Kakching, yesterday.

Distressed parents of the child approached the Pangaltabi Company Operating Base Commander for help in search for their son named Thingam Raj Meitei son of Thingam Sarat Meitei who went missing at 9 am yesterday from his home. The Company Commander immediately took out a team from the Company for the search operation. The missing boy was found after deliberate search at around 8 pm and was handed over to the parents.

The local authorities and parents expressed their gratitude to the Pangaltabi Company Operating Base of Kakching Battalion for extending all the help and rescuing their child. Initiative like these shows Assam Rifles resolve in making a difference in the lives of the people of Manipur, said a press statement released today.
