Smuggler arrested with Brown Sugar worth Rs 2 crores

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, April 14, 2019: Officers of anti-smuggling unit, Customs division today seized 2 kg of Brown Sugar that would worth Rs 2 crores.

The drug was detected by the officers from one  Chonkai Kipgen, 34, son of late Janglun, residence of Vill Ahthibung, Peren. Nagaland this morning at about 6: 30 am.

It was found concealed inside two moras (traditional stool). He was waiting for a passenger winger at Pheiding bus parking stand ready for travelling to Dimapur.
A case has been registered under the relevant provisions of NDPS Act, 1985 and was arrested.
Further investigation to nab the other offender(s) of the case is going on, assistant commissioner customs division Modoli Daso said.
