Student body cautions strike over recruitment

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, May 13, 2019: Three Rongmei Students’ Organisation Manipur (RSOM) has cautioned the state authority to take up process for fresh recruitment of 210 posts for Residential Model School Tamenglong, Moreh (Chandel) and Sapermaina (Senapati).

The student body strongly condemns such misconduct and practice in education sector and appeals the government to check whether the said recruitment has traded money for the job, a statement of the student body said.

The said 210 posts (teaching and non teaching staffs) recruitment notification has not been published in any state daily local newspaper or media, RSOM general secretary Jeanthui Panmei said.

He said the student body came to know of the recruitment that it took place during the Lok Sabha while the election model code of conduct has been imposed.

However the documents of the recruitment have been kept concealed by the authority, he added.

The student body alleged that the concerned authority of Eklavya Residential Model School in the mentioned district conducted the recruitment process on heir behest and favour.

“Conducting recruitment during election time is also a violation of election model code of conduct as per Election Commission of India”, the secretary said.

Taking the matter seriously, particularly of the Tamenglong District Eklavya Residential Model School, the recruitment of the above post should be canceled immediately and a fresh recruitment should be conducted within a month by advertising in all major local paper.  “Failing which the Rongmei Students’ Organisation in collaboration with like-minded students bodies of the state shall take up any kind of democratic agitation if the concerned authority fail to address the matter at the earliest”, Panmei said.
