Customs seizes 15 gold biscuits

Pothashang New Service: Imphal, May 17, 2019: Officers of the Anti-Smuggling unit of Customs Division, Imphal yesterday night seized 15 gold biscuits from near Mayang Imphal Police station along the Mayai Lambi Road, Imphal West.

Assistant commissioner of the customs division Modoli Daso in a press statement released today said acting on the specific information the officers of the Anti-Smuggling Unit of Customs Division, Imphal led by the superintendent of the unit detected the gold biscuits of foreign origin from one person identified as Md Ataullah Khan, 43, son of (Late)Md.

Ataullah was travelling in a cab (Maruti Van) coming from Indo-Myanmar norder town Moreh and the gold biscuits wrapped with black adhesive tape were found concealed in a blue carry bag.

In this connection. a case has been registered and investigation is going on, the assistant commissioner said the assistant commissioner.

The case valued the gold biscuits at Rs.80,62,620
