Road mishap kills two

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, May 21, 2019: Two professional painters died in road mishap today at Sekmai Koujeng Leima Market along national highway -2 in an head to head collision with a two wheeler and one loaded truck.

The incident was occurred at about 10 am. The deceased has been identified as one Angom Sandeep, 32, son of A. Shyam of Awang Sekmai Makha Leikai and Maharabam Jackychand, 29, son of late M. Singhajit of Sekmai bazaar.

According to family members of Sandeep the incident took place when they were going for work. A loaded truck heading towards Imphal hit them.

The two deceased was travelling on a two wheeler (Honda Dio) bearing registration number MN-01-U1622. The truck bore registration number AS-01-G 2135.

Jackychand died on spot and Sandeep succumbed to his injury at RIMS causality.

The truck and along with the driver have been seized at Sekmai police station and a case has been registered at the said police station to take further necessary legal action.
