Haraorou villagers alleges MP for fund misuse

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, July 2, 2019: Haraorou villagers has alleged that huge amount meant for development of the village has been withdrawn by Lok Sabha MP, Ksh. Bhabananda and Imphal West DC, N. Praveen in conspiracy without starting construction works.

The vilagers warned the the MP and DC to return the withdrawn amount within five days to the village authority. If thet failed to fulfill the demand within the deadline intensive agitation will be launched, they cautioned.

Advisor of Youth Modern Club, Dijen Nongthombam a press meet held on Mondat at Khuman Ching, Haraorou, Imphal East said that a huge amount was sanctioned under MP local area fund for the development of the village. For construction of animal shelters at Haraorou out Rs. 10 lakhs sanction amount Rs. 9 lakhs has withdrawn, for construction of pond at Ngairangbam out of Rs. 5 lakhs sanction amount Rs. 4.5 lakhs has withdrawn, and for construction of community pond, piggery, goatary shed, tourist platform, aquaculture based and fencing at Hararou out of a total of Rs. 25 lakhs sanction amount Rs.18.75 has been withdrawn.
However no development have been started yet, Dijen alleged.

He appealed the authority concerned to book the culprits at the earliest.

He said the maintenance of eco tourism park located at Khuman Ching has been continuing by the village authority without any sort of financial assistance from the government.
