People’s committe demands justice to Babysana’s death

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, July 20, 2019: Joint action commitee formed against the mysterious death of Ningthoujam Babysana Chanu has demanded to book the culprits involved in the dead of the school girl from Thangmeiband.

The committee was suspicious that Babysana was murdered.

It with the residents of Thangmeiband staged a sit-in near Thangmeiband Athletic Union’s ground on Friday.

Speaking to media, one of the protestor, Phuritsabam Bina said false smell was emitted from the body and when the body was carried for post mortem. The parents of the deceased were not allowed to see the body properly and media persons were also not allowed to witness the body, she added.

Babysana was found dead on Thursday inside her boarding room of Standard Robarth Higher Secondary school, Canchipur.

She alleged that Babysana was murdered and informed to her family when the body start rotting. School authority claimed that Babysana committed suicide but it was a premeditated murder, she added.

She said there were bruise mark on her body and the position of hanging to commit suicide also suspicious.

The joint action commitee strongly condemned education minister for not giving any comment regarding the incident. Government must immediately book the culprits who were involved in the incident. If the government failed to take necessary action intensified movement will be launched across the state, she said.

JAC will submit a memorandum to the chief minister in conncetion with the incident. If the government failed to agree with memorandum, JAC will not accept the body, the JAC cautioned.
